Professional Background:

Before starting with Unite for HER in 2013, I previously worked as a Marketing Associate and an Event Planner for 2.5 years. Those 2.5 years gave me the opportunity to begin working within the field I studied in college, Marketing and Communications. This was my second job out of college. From 2007 until 2010, I worked as an IT recruiter for TEKSystems. I live in West Chester (where I grew up) with my husband, Kyle, and our beautiful (2.5 year old!) daughter, Nora. They are my inspiration and motivation in everything I do.

How did you become involved with Unite for HER?

I have had the privilege of serving our women as Unite for HER’s Special Events Manager for the past 6 years. I began in the Fall of 2012 as a volunteer and then was brought on full-time in January of 2013. As a volunteer, I saw first hand the direct impact UFH has on the community of women we support and was honored to be brought on full-time and help continue to grow our mission.

What is your role in a Wellness Day and the Wellness Day Program?

For the past 6 years, I have lead our Students Unite for HER Program, which is now present in over 70 schools/colleges. With the dedication of our remarkable school communities, many led by student ambassadors, we have raised over $450,000 collectively for the women of Unite for HER. As part of this program, UFH has also awarded over $30,000 in grants back to our participating schools to families affected by breast cancer. Working collaboratively with the dynamic women of Unite for HER and directly with our event committees and partners, UFH holds four Signature Events every year, Bloom Fashion Show, Unite for HER 5K, Harvest Chef and Wine Event and The Pink Invitational. These events are a true testament to our UFH community that supports us and our women and has allowed the organization to continue to grow and serve more women year over year.

What Inspires Your Work With Unite for HER?

The women of Unite for HER. Their courage, vulnerability and authenticity during such a trying time motivates and inspires my daily actions and is a constant reminder of the importance behind UFH’s mission.
