Homemade Nut Butter

Ingredients

  • 3 cups nuts raw (peanuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts)
  • Sea salt Optional
  • Vanilla extract Optional
  • Hemp hearts Optional
  • Chia seeds Optional
  • Cocoa powder Optional

Equipment

  • Measuring cups
  • Baking sheet
  • Food processor or blender
  • Baking spatula
  • Jar or airtight container

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and add raw nuts to the baking sheet. Roast nuts for 8-12 minutes, or until fragrant and slightly golden brown.
  2. Add roasted nuts to a food processor or blender and blend until a creamy butter forms. The nuts should go from whole, to meal, to clumps, to creamy nut butter. Scrape down sides as needed.
  3. Add additional add-ins to taste, once creamy. Transfer to a clean jar or airtight container and store in the refrigerator up to 3 weeks.
