Spicy Mango Mule

Ingredients

  • Tajín for rim

  • ½ ounce fresh lime juice about ½ lime
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • 2-4 ounces mango nectar
  • 4-6 ounces ginger beer

  • Cocktail glass
  • Small plate
  • Shaker
  • Muddler or spoon
  • Cutting board

  • Measuring cup

Method

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip into tajín to coat. Fill the glass with ice.
  2. Gently muddle jalapeño slices with lime juice and simple syrup in a shaker to release heat and flavor.
  3. Add mango nectar and ice to the shaker. Shake well for about 10-15 seconds.
  4. Strain (if desired) into the prepared glass over ice.
  5. Pour ginger beer over top and gently stir. Garnish with a lime wedge or extra jalapeño slice.

Notes

  • Shopping/Cooking Tip: Use 100% mango juice and fresh lime juice for the best flavor balance.
  • Budget Swap: Swap mango juice for frozen mango chunks blended with water + a splash of orange juice.
  • Allergy/Intolerance Swap: If ginger beer bothers your stomach or you’re sensitive to carbonation, use ginger tea (cooled) with a splash of sparkling water instead.
  • Storage Recommendations: Best enjoyed fresh, but you can prep the mango + lime + spice base up to 2 days ahead and store in the fridge. Add ginger beer and ice just before serving.
