Ask the Experts is a monthly live video series that features medical, legal, scientific, and wellness professionals who address questions that matter most to those affected by breast and ovarian cancers. Topics range from cancer-related cognitive fatigue (“chemo brain or brain fog”), sexual health, and clinical trials, to nutrition, clinical trials, and more. Questions are compiled monthly and answered in a live episode on Facebook, and all episodes are recorded and archived in our online video library, HER Library.

Meet The Expert: Renée Quarterman, MD, FACS

Dr. Renée L. Quarterman is a board certified and award-winning breast surgeon affiliated with ChristianaCare. She graduated from Brown University and Duke University School of Medicine, completing her surgical residency at Oregon Health Sciences University.

With over 16 years of professional experience, Dr. Quarterman has created and grown successful breast surgery practices across the country. She has served as Medical Director for and worked with several breast centers including ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital, Delaware Breast Care, LLC, Langhorne Surgical Group PC, UPMC Williamsport, Saint Francis Hospital, and Susquehanna Health Breast Center. Her work includes overseeing all aspects of breast health, from imaging to cancer diagnosis to coordination of care services.  She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She is certified by the American Society of Breast Surgeons in breast ultrasound.

Dr. Quarterman maintains an active presence in the medical community and works tirelessly to promote awareness of women’s health issues.  She has served as a founding contributor and editor of Breast360.org, a patient-centered educational website created by the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Notable organizations have honored her many contributions, which include: the Recognition of Excellence from the American Cancer Society, the Promise Award from Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Red Letter Award from the YMCA, and a Citation by the Massachusetts Senate for her dedication to community service.
